Effective today, eNW Ellison Northwest has been appointed territory sales reps for the brands Avlex, MIPRO, and Superlux.  Avlex produces a line of cost-effective small-footprint audio mixers, boundary microphones and headworn microphones as well.  The MIPRO brand is a well-established line of top quality feature-rich RF systems – in-ear monitors, UHV wireless microphones and receivers, camcorder receivers, and wireless mixers.  Lastly, Superlux brings a broad line of microphones to the integrator and studio – from large format condensers to goosenecks, hanging mics, boundary “button” mics, ribbon mics, and other microphones for the recording studio.

We are very pleased to have the Avlex family join us at eNW and will be bringing demos to our dealers very soon.

Beaverton, OR–Audio professionals can now receive continuing education credits from the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) for completion of Biamp System’s Audia Certified Training. In addition, InfoComm Renewal Units are now being given for two new training courses given by Biamp at InfoComm International.

Biamp Systems offers a four-day, complimentary course, which prepares attendees to program and implement Audia systems, the world’s most comprehensive digital audio platform.

“The 1,800 people who have completed this course over the past eight years speak to the demand for Audia certification and the quality of Biamp training,” said Ron Camden, Biamp vice president of North American Sales. “BICSI accreditation adds another layer of value and recognition to this certification.”

IT professionals who complete the course can receive the following credits in these areas:
·      Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) – 27 credits
·      Installer2 Copper/Fiber – 15 credit
·      Technician – 18 credit
·      Certified Trainer – 27 credits.

In addition to the BICSI credits, those who complete the Audia course are eligible for 14.5 renewal units (RUs) toward the InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) designation.

And, starting in 2010, InfoComm International has added two Biamp Systems training courses to the InfoComm Renewal Unit (RU) program.

Certified technology specialists who attended VoIP, the Essentials and Network Essentials will receive two RU toward three different InfoComm certifications: CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I.
“RU certification demonstrates the value of these courses to certified technology specialists seeking to continually renew and expand their skills,” said Gina Napoli, Biamp’s VP of marketing and training. “Biamp is committed to developing educational programs that are valuable and relevant to our industry.”

All Biamp courses are led by veteran development and application engineers. Thecertification courses are offered at the North American Learning Center of Biamp’s Beaverton, Ore. headquarters, and globally in Amsterdam, Mumbai and Bangkok.

Interesting story in the news – a court conviction was recently overturned in Georgia on a child-cruelty case, all because the court did not have interpretation capabilities.  “One who cannot communicate effectively in English may be effectively incompetent to proceed in a criminal matter and rendered effectively absent at trial if no interpreter is provided.”   If only they had contacted Listen Technologies for the necessary products that might have made this conviction stick.

We are very proud to announce we are now the territory reps for LynTec systems – makers of sophisticated sequencing for direct control of circuit breakers.  Offering the lowest cost-per-circuit of any sequencing system, LynTec is your cost effective way to offer clients DIRECT CONTROL of circuit breakers at the load center – now you can sequence hall lights, outlets that drive Christmas lights, outlets on a stage or church riser, powered speakers – anything that is controlled by a circuit breaker.

You also have LOTS of control options – contact closure, Ethernet, DMX, or even serial RS232.  Various panel options can get you up and running with ANY existing power panel / load center – the PDS-10 series of controls is designed to do just that.  And for new installations or more involved retrofits, you can replace the existing load center with a LynTec system with full Square-D motorized breaker control.

Please call us to discuss how LynTec can fit into your next project.

Whew!  We’re “back on the air” – we had a glitch with the WordPress blog login and right after Audio Fest 2010 got locked out until just now.  But we’re back and will now resume reporting on the news-worthy happenings at eNW and the Pacific Northwest.

Dave

As most who follow this page know, it’s the very NIGHT before our AudioFest Northwest “mini trade show” at the Marriott Hotel, SeaTac airport (3201 South 176th St. – right across from the SeaTac airport, just behind the Hilton).

Just got back for our evening setup…. golly I’m tired!   I have a very bad left foot (thanks to gout) so it was a MAJOR chore to haul everything up tonight after 8 to set up for the show tomorrow.  A special thanks to my wife Anne, and also to Neal Ratner of Luidia eBeam for his very much appreciated “young muscle” for hauling some VERY heavy stuff into the room.  And a special thanks to my step-daughter Sandra for her floral contributions.

We have a GREAT room – the Snoqualmie – 2000 sq. ft. – with a dance floor, a raised food service area, and a 1000 sq. ft. “showroom” filled with 11 manufacturers!

We did all the pre-setup tonight (special thanks to Neal Ratner of Luidia for thinking out of the box in his engineering efforts to stabilize the 6′ white board for his Luidia eBeam demo area – this kid has stamina!!

And another Shout Out to Michael Hurwitz of Earthworks Audio for his amazing insight in how to aim a projector for our main presentations…. this guy really knows how to “see things” as they should be.  You had to be there… but thanks Michael!

I’ll also publicly admit my “senior moment” with Chuck of APB Dynasonics  for the whole “Mix Switch” thing… he knows what I mean…. so sorry Chuck…. I’m an idiot sometimes!  At least I didn’t make any efforts to try to CMA – I could have and chose not to.  I have faithfully taken my lumps thanks to Chuck!

We really want to thank Listen Technologies for all the ZILLIONS of phone calls their staff made on the behalf of eNW for this event!! OMG!! We NEVER expected they would become a division of eNW in announcement of our event – amazing!!  Thanks so much to the folks at Listen – Cory, Russ, Michelle, Kristin, and the Listen Tech sales team – you guys are the best!!

Also thanks to Mark Bishop of LynTec – we just signed this line barely a week ago, and he managed to not only ship 200 pounds of gear, but also managed to get HIMSELF here on virtually zero notice…. I have no clue how to run his gear just yet  (www.lyntec.com) but I know what it does, and we truly are happy to have this great line on our linecard.  And thanks Mark for helping set things up tonight.  Hopefully we’ll have a block of time tomorrow for a training…

So we’ve gathered all the things we THINK we forgot, and a few others, and even if we have forgotten something, SOMEONE from eNW will run back to Tacoma to get it.

Thanks so much for all the support and help – this is our biggest show ever and we’ve spent months trying to get it right…. hopefully the results tomorrow will vindicate us!!

Dave, Anne, and Jim – the gang at eNW

Hard to believe it’s 2010 already – seems like just a year or two ago we were all dealing with Y2K!

From all of us at eNW we truly hope all our loyal dealers and manufacturers have a better year and wish great success to all – thanks for all your efforts on our behalf.
